I first started working at The Model Shop when I was building my portfolio for admission to Art Center College of Design, and would work there during breaks between college semesters. Working at The Model Shop taught me how to take a very large task and break it down into components and processes. I learned how to use multiple fabrications methods, as well as the strengths and tolerances of each. I needed to know how to read architectural drawing sets and how to find what I needed in a large volume of CAD drawings. It was also immensely satisfying to construct what I had drawn.
